It has been sitting for 2 or 3 decades I think.
In original box, action has been cycled a few times, small safe dings on stock, but otherwise comes in original scabbard, like new.
Serial no. in the low 10,000s. Calibre 30-30, Model 1894.
Any other details would be appreciated... .

Looks to have some wear around the loading gate- no Box? Value with no box probably fired it becomes a shooter just like any other used 94 in 30-30 in my opinion Maybe $595.00 just a guess maybe some winchester collectors will chime in

Interesting, thank-you. I saw one on gunbroker for $1500 and another for $900. There is a little wear around the loading gate, it was purchased at auction in the early 1980s.

Looks like a lot of wear around shooting gate!
$595 sounds real high to me!

This^

And to add to that, before anyone calls me one of the low-ballers, I don't want it.

The value in these is to the guys that collect the new, in box examples. Once it has been removed and used, it's just another post-64 Win 94. Winchester was banging out 'collectible' models faster than they were making regular ones, seemingly. They didn't appreciate much.

As for the prices on Gunbroker (same as for stuff on Ebay), researching the asked-for price only finds out what the guys that have them, hope to get for them. Research the Sold-for price. That tells you what they are actually selling for.

I know at least one guy that found that his commemorative was nigh on useless as a firearm until it was fixed, direct from the factory. It seemed that the quality control was not very stringent, as it was supposed that most would not be shot anyway.

Anyway. Other than the folks that are looking for something a little flashy to take to the range, it is pretty much a 'using' gun, and not worth a bunch as a collectible.

Cheers
Trev
