Okay you fellow Cooey fanatics. Just looking to add to my understanding of Cooeys and maybe some of you can add some info. Does anyone know what the difference in the variations of the 600 are? In John Belton's book he says there were at least 5 variations. Someone asked me how to identify a very late model 600 and I am not positive. But I assume it would have a hardwood stock, plastic trigger guard and may or may not have the rabbit checkering. Were there different sights used for various years? Any difference in feeding tube lengths? Did any late models have a receiver grooved for a scope? I didn't think they did but I may be wrong.:canadaFlag:

Great! Now I know about that part of it. It's always nice to clarify info on these old Cooeys. I just have the one 600 and it is an earlier one with the rabbit stock that is walnut. It has holes for a Weaver side mount.

If I think of it in the next few days, I'll see if there are any differences amongst my 600's.

Seriously jealous of all you 600 owners with the Rabbit Stocks though ... I've got a few 600's, and not a Rabbit among them :(

I have a 600 with groves for a scope. The ones with the white plastic near the recoil pad tend to have groves on the top of the receiver. I think they might be some sort of deluxe model. I've seen this on a couple of them including the one I have.

Great firearm for the price.
