Winchester Defender 1300 bbl question

If the barrel nut will lockup and hold the breech end in the receiver, I don't see why not.

If you are worried, try firing a primed shotshell without the powder or shot. Drape a sheet of white paper around the receiver then examine for signs of gas escaping.

I don't think so, the mag tube on the defender is much longer than a normal 1300, therefore the barrel won't line up, unless of course you thread the portion on the mag tube to the same dimensions as a 1300 and using a proper threaded nut to secure the barrel on, then place original cap back on mag tube to prevent the mag spring from "firing" out.

There are at least two models of Win 1300 Defender. One has a very long magazine tube and the barrel ring is probably 20" from the breech. The other looks like just another shotgun with the ring about 12" from the breech.
