I just ran my first shotgun match with my Winchester Defender and had a blast doing so (no pun intended). My defender has been in the family for years now and I’m not looking to upgrade by any means, but I found I had issues with the long range slug shots. The issues being not hitting the paper. I know more practice will help and I intend on doing so. I was just curious on upgrading the sights for tactical purposes. All I have is the bead on the standard defender barrel and I am looking for other options. Preferably iron sites instead of optics, but what ever information you guys can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is a rifle site setup available for those guns, but you may need the gunsmith to install the front sight, and perhaps the rear if you shotgun in not already drilled and tapped. There is also an option I think available from S&J on this site, it is a full rail, and you could use flip up front and rear sites on the gun, would be really wicked, but wickedly costly I think for that option.

I have a raybar in place of my front bead and reinstalled ihe front bead around mid rib, works well for me and cost me about 30 bucks.
