Winchester Defender?

I usually hang out on the Pistol tread.

I have a Defender 1200 from around 1986 and it holds 6 or 7 shells in the tube, forget. I have put a wood dowel plug into the tube so it holds 4 + 1. Is this the correct amount so the thing is legal? Wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of the heat!

This is not a hunting gun. It has no shoulder stock at all, hand grip, no rear sights. I have been under the impression for years now that it needs a plug in it. It has an awful short bbl I guess 18 inch.

No you do not need a plug in it it is not a semi auto.

Thank you for the information. I have owned it for years and always thought I needed to add a plug.
