Winchester Extreme Weather Stainless Steel

I have 2 of them, 30-06 and a 25-06. Both very nice rifles. Mine are the older USA built BACO built units. I have no complaints with either of mine.

I have one in 30-06. I bought it in 2011 or 2012 at Sail. It was manufactured in the U.S.A. With a Bushnell Elite 3200 it weighs 8.4 lbs but feels lighter. I agree with other comments about the chunky wrist, but overall, I like the feel of the Bell and Carlson stock. I don't like the fact that it scratches very easily and leaves a light gray mark wherever this occurs. Mine did not like several brands of inexpensive factory ammo and gave (on average) 3 MOA five shot groups at 100 yards shooting off a bench and a good rest. I started handloading and got that down to about 0.8 MOA within my first five handloaded groups ever, and this was using hunting bullets and no special handloading techniques. So these rifles have good accuracy potential.

I have one in .30-06 and it is superb. I wanted one in .308win, searched for 2 years or so, couldnt find one, then got the one I have now. Still havent seen one in .308 yet. I got 0.9" groups with factory Winchester 180gr and 1.05" groups with Rem 150gr CL. My handloads using 150gr GMX get me 0.65" groups. I have a Minox 2-10x40 and use bags on the bench.
I hope to find a .308win someday. (My favorite hunting caliber)

I used one as a client loaner on the coast, you’d be hard pressed to tell me there’s a better rifle for the money than a stainless Model 70. For whatever reason I like Rugers more but the M70 is more refined. Usually end up as gifts, as they’re a rifle people fall in love with when they use them. Have given away multiple Model 70s to clients and guides.

I just bought another one again in 270wsm. Now have to find some glass to top it off. My last one had a Vortex 2.5-10 which was nice. Not sure what I am going to do this time, maybe a VX3i 3.5-10?

Ouch 264 WM caliber I think that might kick more than my 30.06 ?

I ended up buy back the very same EW I sold a year ago off the same gentleman. Didn't even realize it at first, guess it is something like if you love it let it go and if it comes back it's ment to be.....

If I didn't get the 270WSM back I would look really hard at the 264WM. Still have a pile of bullets left over from the 260 rem I sold.

I’ve got two, US made. 30-06 and a 270, mutually complimenting calibers.
B&C stocks fit me very well. Both shoot exceptionally.

I shouldered some Remington's last weekend heavy barreled 5R 's I think they were . The stocks on those things were like 2x4s. Not sure if the Winchester Extreme Weather has a similar stock on it as those . I'm wanting to shoulder a 2019 model

Leavenworth, those stocks are the worst. The B&C isn’t quite that bad. I’ve actually got another one in the mail on it’s way.

As far as the .264, I’ve always found the 7rem mag a real pussy cat and a pleasure to shoot, and that was back in my real skinny days, 5’10” 130 pounds. The .264 is essentially the same case pushing 6.5s so dropping bullet weight would only ease it up. I’d put the 257 Weatherby, .264WM, 7RM, and 270WSM all into a category of “strike like lightning” with minimal recoil category. Of course you won’t be pushing huge pills either with the exception of maybe the 7RM at the upper end
