Winchester Extreme Weather Stainless Steel

I had one in 300 Win Mag sold the stock very quickly and replaced it with A Boyd's, wanted one in 338 but had to settle for a stainless Sporter model. Like the rifle, really dislike the stock, another minor complaint is the 22" barrel on the 270 model. I bought a Sako A7 in a rough Tech Pro because of the 24" barrel then sold that stock as well.

I’d toss that boss as far as I could throw it. I think the short action standard calibers had something like a 19” barrel to the end of the threads. Not sure about the long action and magnums.

Those early 5-6 digit classic stainless Winchesters are real beauty’s though. I’d snap them up if they’re cheap. And yes they’re CRF

I’m still Thinking on a Winchester Extreme Weather . I don’t have any stainless rifles nor CRF . I know there have been a few replies concerning the gap in the bolt by Mr. Leeper on here . But fellas on different forums in the USA seem to like the ones assembled/ manufactured in Portugal .

I think my Browning made Winchester from Portugal is by far the nicest M70 I have ever had. Fit and smoothness is top notch. Stock fits me excellent.

Only issue I had was a weak firing pin spring. Was fix under warranty. No issues since.

Slimbo: cheers

They look like they gave short barrels in long action magnums too. Cut and crown would be the first thing to happen absolutely.

For me the model 70 and 2.5 inch magnums are like peanut butter and jelly.

I can’t get over the b and c stock textures, I’m considering sanding one I have down and repainting to get rid of the bumps

I sold a 458 s/s barrel to a guy on here who was going to rebarrel a 300 wm extreme weather.

338 wm for me too I think...

I'm having troubles settling on a scope for mine in 270wsm. First I went with a VX3i 2.5-8, then a Vortex Razor LTH 3-15, now I have a cheap Burris FFII 3x9 on it. I have never had so much problem deciding on a scope before. Trying to balance weight with magnification. Might grab a VX3D 3.5-10 when they hit the shelves.
