I purchased a box of 300 grain 45-70 Winchester rounds. Upon opening the box I realized the primer wasn't proper seated in the round. I thought it was kinda dangerous, whether it was a small over look or not I felt the need to atleast contact Winchester and maybe have them rectify the problem.

Keep in mind the store had no intentions of accepting any sort of return on live ammo.

I emailed Winchester explaining the situation and this is the reply I received.

At a loss lol. It's only a $2 shell but... Ya know.

Maybe you pissed them off when you called them the infamous winchester company, comes off as cheeky :)

It looks to me like an automated reply, perhaps they haven't reviewed it yet

I wasn't even trying to be cheeky lol, I love Winchester.
And automated or not it's been a few days and nothing. Yes.... I know it's the weekend.
Let's see what happens.

I will watch this too, bought a box of super X shotgun shells and the tops were not formed right. a lot of the pellets have fallen out of the shells and were in the box rattling around. wouldn't be a good shell to pop in the autoloader.

Just throw er in the press and seat that primer super hard, even smack it in there a couple times with impact, all will be fine
(kidding of course)

reaffirms why its rare i ever purchase winchester ammo!

I called the number and mine was dealt with promptly. Sent her a picture and was asked to ship back on their shipping acct and I would then receive compensation by Winchester once they receive it. Guess they will send out another box.

Last time I got that kind of issue with Winchester ammo, I called them and they sent me Winchester certificate to cover 2 box of ammo instead of the 1 I brought. Note they are closed till 02-Jan as written on their support webpage

Has the OP received an actual reply from a company rep. yet?
There was/is something highly unusual about that the primer not being seated correctly too.
Lot number and other info should have been passed on in the first contact though.
Sure wished it was a Sudbury Saturday night here on the Wet Coast myself though.
