I see that winchester is making the model 70 again. Onr of the models is the Winchester M-70 Coyote lite. It has a fluted heavy barrel and a bench rest style stock with a big flat front end for resting on bags. Anyone tried one out? how do they shoot? I saw one at WSS and it was pretty nice.

M70

Yes, I have an all weather SS in 325wsm... so far so good, hunted some real crappy weather the last few weeks and no problems with the gun at all. Shooting 200gr factory loads @ 100 yds was 3/4"
The gun is Fn made, and does have B/C stock with a great recoil pad - no complaints at all

just picked one up yesteday (coyote light), hope to go shoot it later today!

got the 300 WSM version and put on a Bushnell 3x9-40 elite 3200 DOA scope.... we`ll see what she does. (-:

Well got 14 rounds through it. sure is a nice unit. the action felt very smooth and precise. recoil isn`t terrible but is an 8 lb gun. trigger pull is extremly light  factory says 3 1/2 pounds but i dunno they might have gone light this one... we ran out of day light but we got to a point were we were 2 inches high at 100 yards. it can be fine tuned abit more but not bad really for now, it should hit the mark, especially if the target hapennes to be 2-300yards away... :D

I could tell the butt piece harden in the cold, it was about -15c today, shot soft for the first half dozen rounds then got stiffer, although my virgin shoulder was probly pussying out too.

I`ll definatly get more time with it before hunting season comes around again. :D

I work at a gun counter and have given that rifle a good look over and played around with it. Looks like a pretty nice rifle, I was impressed. Have fun and tell us more.
