Winchester M70 Extreme Weather

Great rifles. I love my Winchester’s.

The EE sure is slow and has been for quite a while. Wish it would turn around. Hunting season is close and guys hopefully want to buy quality used rifles

The M70 EW are solid rifles. First rifle I recommend if asked what to buy.Been around 4 of them 30-06, 270wsm, couple 300wsm. No issues with any of these. Very accurate with good barrels. I like the WSM setup, 24 inch barrel with short action. Handles good..

If they ever came out with one in 260 Remington I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. For now I have switched to Ruger 77's.

they offer the EW in 6.5 Creedmoor for 2018, I ordered one 8 months ago and the McMillan stock is sitting patiently ready

I rebarreled a EW 30-06 in 2012 to 338-06 and shot three bull elk with it. Great rifles. I did replace the hefty B&C stock with a McMillan Edge, and eventually replaced MOA trigger with a Timney

I guess with all the marketing hype over the creedmore there is probably no chance of a 260. I know I know the creedmore is awesome but I like the 260.

I had tried a Timney trigger but it was flat and didn't like the feel.

Yeah the feel of the Timney is a little different at first but I don't mind it. I am also a big 260 fan, and it would be great in the 3" mag box of the m70.

Will the McMillan stock need to be bedded? The BC stock has nice aluminium bedding.

Indeed a .260 or 6.5 other than the .264 WM, and a .375 H&H EW with irons would both sell out fast for Winchester.

I would buy a pair of the short Rem Mags in a heartbeat, if they came out in the M70 EW... but this is highly unlikely to ever happen.

LOL- that’s why we aren’t all shooting a .270 or .30/06. Wait, I have one of each of those too!

What's even worse for me is I do most of my deer hunting with a shotgun or a bow because of the regs and the area I hunt and we have only had one bull tag in last 8 years. All the rifles and calibres I have been playing with over the last 12 years has been for no really reason at all. My head hurts, time for a beer.
