any feedback on this mod 64 ? I didnt see them often
its a 1951 dated 30-30 caliber

Pictures not that clean sorry I didnt take them lol
do you recommend to refinish the wood furniture or leave like that ?

I've always loved those 64s. My wrist can't get around a straight grip on a rifle while shooting.

Me, I would refinish the wood.

I've got one, and I've used it for the last few years as my main deer rifle. There weren't as many model 64's made as 94's. I don't know the numbers, but it was in the hundreds of thousands, not the millions. It was an upgrade, kinda like the Winchester 71 was an upgraded model of the older model '86.

I really like my rifle, and the longer barrel isn't an issue in the bush like some would have you believe. Take it out and have fun with it before you decide to start playing with the rebuild. Maybe it won't need the refinish, and you'll be too busy hunting with it to be able to redo the stock.

Leave the rifle as it is.It looks in good shape and refinishing it will do the value no good.

The Model 64 was not made in the numbers the Model 94 was,but for some unknown reason to me,they do not sell for a lot more than the Model 94 carbines of the same era are going for these days.Model 94 carbines of the same era , by in large, seem to be selling for between the $400 and $500 mark.Model 64 rifles in the standard version seem to be going for $600 to $900.Not a lot more when one considers the numbers of each made.

Besides the 24 inch standard version Model 64 there was a 20 inch standard rifle,a 24 inch barrel deluxe and a 20 inch barrel deluxe version.
