Winchester Mod 94 .32 Win Spl question

This may be a naive question, but here it goes.

I recently inherited a Winchester Model 94 lever action and on the side of the barrel it indicates that it is a 32 Winchester Special.

The box of shells that came withh it have a mixture of shells, some of which are .32 Win Spl, but others are 25-35 Win. The two types of shells are the same length, but the width of the bullets appear to be different.

Someone told me they can both be fired in the .32 Win Spl, but I have a hard time believing that since the diameters appear to be different.

Can these shells be used in the same gun?

According to the above drawings, yes, you can fire a 25-35 in a 32 special, and no harm done.
But don't expect any great accuracy either.

Maybe no harm done, but not a good idea. A 25 cal bullet rattling down a 32 cal barrel obviously won't be accurate. Case neck may crack. 25-35 hasn't been made in a long time, may have a collector value.

While the 25-35 rifles have been out of production for a while the ammo is still commercially loaded and no I would not shoot it in the .32.

The 25-35, 30-30, 32-40, 32 WCF and the 38-55 are all built off the same basic brass.
You would probaly have a problem with the bullets tumbling.

Same as shooting .270 in a .30-06 can be done and i have seen it done by accident at the range. Can't be good for your barrel and it definitley sucks accuracy wise.

SL8-4 keep askin questions and nevermind the peanut gallery.
