Could some one please help. I am geting all kinds of diffrent info on the net. I have a winchester Model 03. The info says, That the serial number of mine it was made in 1903. Then the outher info says that the model 03 was made after1919 When they changed it from a model 1903. I as well, have several boxs of western x winchester automatic 45 grain rim fire ammunition. Some say it will work in this rifle and some say it will not. I have tried for a long time getting the right info. Thanks all Don

Yah thats' the only ammo that fits in that gun, and the only gun that fires that ammo.
I have one too, but no ammo. It's very rare and hard to come by.
There was a short run of it produced by old western scrounger of which there may be a box or two left floating around. I've seen $50 a box.
Don't shoot the ammo, it's obsolete and worth more $$ together WITH the gun.

What do you mean "good to go"?
It's rare and obsolete, irreplaceable.
The boxes you have are probably from the '70's when they stopped making it.

What i ment by that, was after my research and not finding any thing concrete on this ammunition. I was not sure that this ammunition belonged with this rifle. Now im good to go and finish documenting my records to mate the Rifle with the ammunition. Once again Thank you so much for the info. Paatz All the best Don
