I've seen these from time to time, and they are a nice looking little rifle. It seems they don't last long when they come up for sale, so they must be well thought of overall.

Anyone here care to weigh in? :)

Thanks, Jeff.

They are pretty, they carry nicely, they are relatively accurate and they work well when well maintained. They don't tolerate neglect.
Major parts are not readily available and are expensive.
The early ones were subject to a recall for the firing pin. That recall is still being honoured by Winchester.

Wrong. Because they are semi-autos, they are evil, self-operating people killers. They will soon be confiscated by the neo-communists in Ottawa so that YOU don't turn into the MURDERER that is in you just simmering under the surface. Don't let it in your house, or it will kill you, your family, and any kittens there may be around.

(sarcastic rant off)

I like Model 88's, but not 100's. Every single one I've ever owned have had problems. I've owned maybe 4 or 5 over the years. In my opinion they are very finicky - problems have included having to have the arms on the operating slide soldered.

Hmmm... I have had 4-5 over the years & have had one that was finiky of bullet selection & one I would swear would cycle piece of cow turd if you shoved it in the clip :D All the rest were decent shooters with no particular jam problems:)

Two of my best hunting friends have used Win 100's in 284 Winchester since the 70's. They've used them for whitetails, mulies and elk and I've borrowed one a couple times for whitetail. The fact that they use them and have for so long is a pretty good recommendation to me. They're nice handling rifles.

The only thing to check, is that Winchester did a recall of them some years back, it was to fix the firing pin. Apparently they could peen, and go full auto.
I think most are fixed, but, you never know.

Other than that, I think these are fine guns, and no not just for a semi. They don't seem to have the issues that others do.

I've had a couple, both in 308 and have worked on countless others. They are dependable and accurate auto-loaders when kept clean. No major issues with them, parts, being said previously, are getting hard to find.
Other than the firing pin recall, extractor availability and action bar breakage, no major worries.

How cool is that? ;) :D :p

I had one built in 358 and works great. The stock I put it in the hole for the bolt that mounts the recoil lug was a bit ovole so the action was able to move and would'nt cycle right but after changing the stock it's fine so I'll be beading the old stock.I've never had any probs with mine and I've got about 13 model 100's in all the diff calls and rifles and carbines as well. They are known for the bad extractors getting seized up and need oiling on them.Keep the gas piston and action cleaned well and you should have a very nice shooting gun and no probs.
