Winchester Model 1400 Ranger (I think)

My wife bought me a "Win Model 1400" for Xmas 1991, and I believe from what I've read that it may be a "Ranger" model. My question is this, from my readings it could/should (I'm not sure on this point) have been a combo with a second barrel, a rifled deer barrel. I have only the smooth barrel with 3 interchangable chokes.The gun is 12 ga chambered in 2 3/4". It's a beautiful shotgun and works flawlessly. I'd like to hear from anyone familiar with the gun and ideas as to where or how I might find the missing deer barrel. It would be nice to have a whole kit as it was intended.

I'm supposed to be getting an XTR 1500 in the near future. From what I hear they are almost identical. I am pretty proficient at searching the net for info but there is almost nothing out there for the 140's, 1400's, and 1500's. Apparently the Canadian versions can be called 2400's and 2500's. From all that I gather, they are pretty decent guns that had a short run of it. I believe I also saw something about a European model with a silver receiver, but I can't be sure of that.

I have a Model 2400 (Canadian Model of the 1400) as well as a deer barrel that is non-rifled (smooth bore) with rifle sights. If memory serves me correctly I purchased the barrel from an eBay auction several years ago. Have a nice day.

The Winchester Model 1400 has been around in one form or another since it was introduced by Winchester in 1964.It stayed in the line till the late 90's or early 2000's.The 1400,2400,140 and 1500 all used the same action with different finish and wood.The early 1400's used walnat while the later I belive used other wood.The 2400 and 140 used maple or birch.The 1500 had a very nice finish and walnut.

The whole line was inexpensive for Winchester to manufacture as the action used a lot of metal stampings and some plastic.

In the past I had two Model 1400's and a Model 1500.Had trouble with jamming in all three.
 
I picked up a 1400 skeet model this summer. Put about 400 rds through it so far on the skeet field. All reloads including some 1 oz ones. No problems at all. Really nice wood. Just what I was looking for- an inexpensive gun to shoot informal skeet at the local club. I'd like to try a deer barrel as well. Didn't know they made them. Are the barrels for all the models named interchangable?
