Winchester Model 1886 Cleaning

Howdy.

I'm curious to know what experienced persons use to clean up the metal on an older rifle. All of the blueing is gone and, although I don't want to refinish the piece, I would like to clean it up.

Is there a cleaning compound or polish available for this purpose?

Collectors don't like to see these overcleaned and never polish,
course if it was mine, real fine steel wool and light oil does wonders.

In a word, don't. Just clean it with regular bore solvent and leave it alone.
