Can't use a lot of modern loads in the old 95 30-06 Re: stretching actions.........in the modern Browning copies yes........Harold

My first thought when I saw the pics was $800, I see I am not alone. Think you got your answer. X2 on the headspace.

I usually agree with everything Mike Webb says about Winchesters except in this case I think it will be hard to get near 800 for this piece in here, I suspect more like 650

I just looked at a 303 chambering and a local store wanted 800... the rifling was just visible.. externally it was fair , not great, but not rusty.. for that one I was willing to go 600 but they said no.
Seems to be hit and miss on these when they do come around either a chambering that isn't desired or is shot out or neglected.

Asking price and selling price are often two different things with these rifles. They're worth what someone is willing to pay. You might get $800 for it. You might also sit on it for a year. I've bought and sold a few over the years. I love the 1895s and currently have one like the ops but in 35 Winchester and don't plan on ever parting with it.

I would be surprised if you get more than $500 for it but you can always try.
