Hey folks, not sure if this is in the right thread or not, apologies if it isn't.

As title says I am looking for a barrel nut wrench for my model 290 semi, to purchase, if not does anyone have a picture or what could be used in place? I was going to drift it over with a hardwood dowel so I don't distort the metal but this is my late grandfather's rifle & I want to keep it going indefinitely if possible.

Also, I see the recoil plate came with it isn't installed. does anyone have a picture or video of how it is supposed to be installed in the receiver? thanks in advance CGN's.

If you strip the rifle and remove the rear sight and that shield over the back end you can get at the circular nut easily. Many just use a drift to remove it, just use a brass drift and a heavy enough hammer so you only hit it once. Pounding with a light hammer is what does damage. Here's the look at removing the sight and shield...a PDF. Als shows where the recoil plate goes inside the back. https://www.indaginibalistiche.it/utlities/manuali/winchester_190_EN.pdf
