winchester model 67

Hey everyone,

Just got a 43/44 Winchester Model 67, it is overall in good condition, with some scratches and dings in the stock, I was thinking of refinishing it with a hand rubbed tung oil finish but before I do, I just wanted to make sure it wouldnt hurt any limited value.

If any gun holds any value, refinishing it is going to lower that value. If it's not a collector piece, the value lost probably won't be that big of a difference.

Winchester 67 is a nice single shot, but I don't think it is a collectible, or even if it were, it is not a high-value collectible ($100-200). So refinishing the stock will not affect the value much in terms of absolute dollars. It is a desirable piece if it shoots well and cosmetically in good shape. JMHO

Re-finish the stock if it will make you happy. Then shoot the rifling out of it

Perfect, thanks I just didnt want to refinish it if it had collector value I didnt know about. Ill have to take some before and after pics
