Just picked this one up yesterday,Winchester model 68.I think it is an early model.The rear sight is what interests me the most,never seen anything like it.

That is the standard rear peep sight for this rifle. It was brought out to be a low priced alternative to the model 52. I have had one for about 30 years and find it very accurate! Enjoy!
It was introduced as a target version of the 67 that's why it had the apature sight it was made from about 1934-1945 then Winchester dropped from the line .
