Canadian tire in Rocky mountain house had one in 338 win . Price was 1419.00. I bought the one in aught six they had and so far it's a super nice rifle and looks like it will shoot really well once I figure out a load

Not many dealers even have more than 1 in stock, nevermind a "stocking dealer". One of the most poorly distributed rifles of the past 10 years. I got my .30-06 at a local Can Tire. It was in the display case for 2 years. Only one they ever got in. Good luck. You should be able to find one with cgn help.

found a new Winchester model 70 weather extreme in 30-06 . it has the all black stock not the black with the grey . it says on the box made in the USA and assembled in Portugal . is this the exact same gun as made in 2017 ? just the stock color is different?
I've read somewhere about the new action made by FN ? would this one be the same , been sitting on the shelf about 1 1/2 years

Pretty pumped, first new rifle in about twelve yrs. have had some used ones but this will be nib. What do you guys suggest for a good set of light weight strong rings and bases. Got a 3x9 vxii leupold I might put on her.

I just got my 308 from Valley Firearms, and a couple of days early! A friend of mine also suggested the Tally rings, so I emailed them and confirmed the size I needed. However, at time of purchase, I already bought some Leupold dual dovetail bases and rings and I just installed them. I love the way it looks - I got silver bases to match the receiver and black rings to match the scope. Deer won't care, but I like the set up ;) Can't wait to go to the range and sight it in with my ammo!!

And to answer your question, Prophet River has the Tally lightweights.

Had the hots for a 308 for many years. Could never find one so this past few months I settled for a Featherweight blued 308 and bought the B and C stock separately from Prophet River, thanks, Clay and crew....

Now i’m Most happy to hit the fields with my Winnie Fwt 308. Life’s good!

Cheers, Barney
