Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather

I believe most guys who hunt at those temps use no oil. I'd consider graphite, although if it's picking up condensation that may not be ideal either. By the way who makes Tri-Lube? And I would also put the bolt on the defrost vent if driving to another spot or if you have a rugged case, leave it in the box? Oh and what's the purported difference with this "extreme weather"? Some kind of Teflon?

Tri lube is an Outers product.

I'm still not sure what constitutes the "Extreme Weather" difference?

Edit:

Just saw Chucks answer.

Tupperware and stainless.

G-96 is the best I've used for cold weather lube.

Finger toes. Its a winchester factory stainless synthetic, fairly early sn G183###, if that helps. Maybe current ones are stiffer.

I don't think there is anything special in terms of Teflon coatings or anything with the extreme weather SS. I think it is just standard stainless and synthetic with a cool marketing name "extreme weather SS" used as a gimmick. Regardless this gun is my number one choice in my next hunting rifle right now!

Well maybe I could use that. Wife: "You already have a stainless rifle" Me: "But baby, it's not an "extreme weather ss". You don't want me to take out a rifle that won't work in extreme weather when I'm after bear do you? I could get eaten!"
Thanks for the replies guys.

Which is exactley what I'm talking about. Mine is a week old and it is bedded. Give me a few minutes and I'll get some pictures up.
It is pretty easy to see the bedding material at the lug and the tang.

Look close and you can see how translucent the bedding media is, while it may not be hot glue it sure feels and cuts like hot glue. For sure it is not like any epoxy I've ever used or seen used.
And you are welcome!
