Could someone please tell me the approved method and sequence for tightening the guard screws on a Winchester Model 70 pre-64 rifle, and for checking for the proper tightness?

Many thanks!

This how I tighten my 1955 300 H+H Front guard screw 1st snug it up so it bottoms out then the rear tang screw snug it up till it bottoms out then back to the front guard screw tighten completely full torque then back to the rear tang screw full torque then the front trigger guard screw tighten till bottoms out the turn back a 1/2 turn front boss screw tighten till bottoms out then turn back 1 1/2 turns. Rifle shoots 3/4'' groups all day long. I have a couple of other pre 64's same procedure they all shoot I have been thinking of bedding them but if its not broke don't fix it .
