An interesting story. Quite a while ago, I met one of the similar "stay behind and harass the Germans" people and he told me quite a bit of what they were supposed to do. It was assumed that they could operate for two weeks before the Germans hunted them down and they were told this and accepted it.

When being accepted for the Unit, they were investigated and vetted by the local Chief Constable. They were given sealed orders that were only to be opened in case of Invasion. Somehow, these orders were "accidentally" opened, and one of the first things they had to do is take the silenced .22 and kill the Chief Constable. It was a desperate action, but considered necessary because the Chief Constable had been the one to investigate all the members and knew their names.

No records were kept of arms, ammunition and supplies given to them, and when he went back to England over 20 years after the War, he visited their old "hide" and the Munitions, Grenades, Weapons, Machine Gun, and the silenced .22 were still there, preserved and still ready for use. Since he has passed away, this will probably be lost forever.
