If original, the rifle would not have left the factory without the appropriate barrel address and Winchester proofs. It seems clear the gun was re-barreled. On a side note, I really enjoy shooting 25-35. That little cartridge has quite a snap to it.

Also if original, the rifle would've been built on the standard angle eject action of the day (2005) with a tang safety and not an early Big Bore action. Clearly, the OP bought a re-barreled BB 94 but hopefully it is chambered in .23-35 and not some wildcat number like .25 Tomcat or .25/307, though either of those would be interesting.
