I have the XTR Big Bore model in .375Win, which is an awesome little rifle, with a big punch. It's one of my favorite hiking rifles, cuz it's such a nice handling little rifle.

I've never really had any interest in the M94 in .30-30 (cuz the .30-30 sucks).

My Grampa had a M1894 SRC in .32 Win Spcl., which my older brother 'stold'. If I ever saw a nice SRC .32 Win Spcl., I'd probably be tempted to buy it, for the nostalgia.

I wanted a pre 64 because of the hype that supposedly it has better alloys. My friend has one and supposed to get 2 from a friends estate. So I'll cash in one one of those if the price is right.

I do have a 1970 Northwest Territory anniversary edition 30.30. I bought it for $600 came in a wood box with some Eskimo's burned into it, closes with moose hide straps. It's Brass with a polar Bear etched into the receiver Blued Hex barrel and some kind of coin recessed into the stock.Which I think is walnut but I'm not sure would have to look again

Action seems smooth enough, But to be honest,I haven't fired it. Don't know if the other did either. From research I think mint there floating around the 1200 range apparently Winchester has a anniversary rifle for every occasion. But looks cool.Every safe needs a lever action. For 6 bills had to do it

I Currently have 2, mine is a mid 70's version and my dad's a 1948.
I also own a 94 in 44 magnum almost forgot about that one.
I would like to have a 25-35 some day.

David

PS I did forget the 9422 in the safe as well.

I've got my dad's that he bought new in 1956, a minty 1950, three rifle versions from the early 1900's in 32-40, 32spl and 38-55, a timber carbine in 450 marlin and two pack carbines in 30-30 and 44 mag

1894s...It's like holding history

1894s...It's like holding history

May not be the best lever gun, but they still make them and people buy them. There has to be a reason...function?...history?

Had Trapper 30-30...shot a deer...sold gun
Had Oliver Winchester 38-55...shot 2 deer...sold gun

Got pre 64 (1959) 30-30...shot deer...still have gun
Got pre 64 (date?) 32 Spl...sold gun. I know who has it and he won't sell it back to me!

Bought another pre 64 (1949) 30-30 yesterday. Has been re-barreled with a Klondike Commem barrel. Had Wiliams peep sight. Took it off and put Williams Fire Sights on it. Will use as back up truck gun.

Also have...

Browning B92 44RMag
Winchester 1892 (new) 45 Colt
Marlin 336 30-30
Marlin 1895 45-70
Uberti Silverboy 22RF

I Like those lever guns.

Ive got a post 94 that I push bush with. I installed a Skinner peep site. Its fast, accurate, and mechanically flawless. The finish is crap though.

It was my first rifle given to me by my uncle, so I wont be getting rid of it ever. I also shot my first deer with it.

Have a commemorative in 38-55, a Marlin in 30-30(boys rifle), Marlin 45-70 GG, and a Henry 22. My favourite is the GG. Still want an old 94 30-30 though.

Last year I traded my Savage Axis 243, for Winchester 1894 30-30 made in 1964.
I had always wanted one and I love shooting it great for Bear and Deer.
Then of course I purchased another Savage Axis on sale for $289.00 Canadian, at CDN TIRE on a clearance sale.
So I believe I got a good deal and fulfilled my urge, to own a Winchester 94.
Will always own one now, don't see all the hype over the pre 94 mine shoots, and works just like I expected it to.

They seem to fly off tables at gun shows; half the people you see carrying a new-to-them rifle have a '94 in hand. Lots of people are attracted to them.

But realistically in BC there are way better rifles for the variety of country you may encounter in a day such as everything from thick jungle to a 300 yard across-a-clearcut shot.

What I have at the moment.

Two model 94 rifles in 38-55. Each has a four digit serial numbers and are shot. Shot my first deer with one

A 1913 Belgian Congo in 30 wcf. Metric ladder rear site and side mount slings

A 1952 30-30 that I hope to take a deer with this fall.

I grew up shooting Winchester lever actions and they will always hold a special place in my gun safe

I have dad's old 30-30 Mod. 94 my grandparents gave him when was young. It was a used gun when they bought it back in the '50s with a manufacture date of 1914 according to Winchester's site. Still shoots fine and it stills sees the occasional trip to the deer woods. According to dad that gun has put a lot of meat on the table when times were tough.
