If I ever have to cut down my gun collection for any reason the very last rifle to go out the door would be my 94. Rifles are seen by many as hunting tools or precision target competition tools. But the 94 transcends all that and is actually fun to shoot for plinking sessions. There's something mechanically satisfying in the way it chambers a fresh round. It'll also teach you the value of a good cowboy hat when it rains brass down on yer noggin courtesy of the vertical ejection pattern...
If you don't have a hat on you'll soon learn to cant the gun slighty to one side or the other during the lever cycle.
I've only just started reloading and one of my first tasks was to reload all the commercial .30-30 brass I've got so I can get back out and play. The 200m gong at my outdoor range has been a BAD piece of steel and needs some punishment....
No range report yet? What's the holdup?
