Hi gang,

I am hoping someone can shed some light on what a good condition Winchester PCMR is worth. This particular one is by far the best condition one I have personally seen. All 3 broad arrows are visible and the bore is clean. I am not a dealer and don't know to accurately gauge the good, very good, excellent etc.

I will try to post some photos, but any ideas would help.

As ever detailed pics would help establish a better indication on value. Based on what you describe and those I have seen around here, somewhere around $900 would be my estimate. Does it have the front sling band etc...?
 
Just about to post some photos. It does not have the front sling band. It has a leeman rear sight, but the original rear site is also with the firearm.
 
I saw one very similar sell at the HACS gun show in Chilliwack. It was similar condition, had the front sling band, but only the stock sight. It sold for $750 back in Feb this year.
 
Thanks for the input guys. Still debating its future at this point. I was considering listing around $1100 and see what interest is there, but want to get an idea of what others thought its value is. It's a beautiful rifle, nicest PCMR by a long shot that I have seen.

Brought me a lot of joy, but still deciding what to do at this point.

Mine is in nicer shape than your and I paid $650. As a collector item you are missing a lot of parts that are going to devalue the rifle. You are missing the front sight hood, front band with swivel(which is impossible to find), rear sight and Ross rifle rear sling swivel. I seen a NIB one with all the paper work for $1350.
 
Thanks rebel, that's gives another perspective. Not sure what it's destiny is, but wanted to gauge where prices are. Ultimately it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, good or bad. Thanks everyone

Correct and there's always someone with $ looking to buy a good condition PCMR rifle....That's the key..
 
I want one in nice condition, that still has the sling band and swivels.

Very few do and many are very rough. There was one on the EE recently that I wouldn't have in the house.
 
They were working guns, they got carried a lot in the rainforest - in a lot of ways, they were like the "Ranger Enfields" that we hear so many horror stories about today. Parts can be sourced, but there are a small number of people who have them, and they're a pretty tight club, it doesn't help that most are old and don't do "that internets thing" for anything but research.
 
sold one a couple of years ago in the $750 range,it had the correct front sling band and sling,its visible condition did not look as nice as the pictures but it did not appear to be refinished
