Winchester Primers, Small , Large , Whats the diff??

Is there two small flash holes inside the primer pocket straight accross from each other on off center? or is there just one hole in the center of the primer pocket.........

There is only one flash hole right in the center ... boxer primer not berdan ....

But, at my firing club this sunday, someone told me that I might have to swage the primer pocket ... ???
By doing the swaging process, will that also stretch the primer pocket to the .120 needed or just remove de crimp ... ? I know that swage is for crimp primer pocket but not sure if that will increase the deepness of the primer pocket ...

Swaging or Reaming remove the crimp. Swaging forces it larger, reaming cuts it larger.

Neither will make the pocked deeper. Only a primer pocket uniformer cuts it deeper.

you said the brass was Imperial brand? I think they stopped making that in the 70's before some of the new brass was made with non standard primer types (small in calibres that usually use large etc). If you could mail a piece of this brass to someone here with a reamer and uniformer they could see what the issue is.

Gunnar: A pocket uniforming tool has a cutter on the bottom and a flange that rides on the case head. You mount it in an electric drill and run it into the primer pockets. It cuts the pockets to a square uniform depth. If you have a large quantity of this brass (too much brass to just throw away) then a pocket uniforming will fix the problem.

I have seen this problem before with cheap brass, but not as bad as you describe.
