Has anyone tried this ammo or know if anyone sells here yet? It looks quite impressive for personal defense with 3 buckshot pellets over a 1 oz slug. Winchester's website says it was released in the US last year but i have yet to see or hear of it.

They`re probably suckin it up pretty fast in the states. Probably be a while before we see any up here.
The tests I saw showed the 3 pellets spreading a bit faster than regular buckshot.
Might be just the ticket for dispatching a bear at under 20yds but I think I`ll stick with 00buck for things that go bump in the night.

It looks like the worst of both worlds. With a shotgun, you would logically want either the relative precision of a single projectile or the close-range devastating terminal effect of buckshot.
Compared with a conventional slug load, recoil will be substantially increased with minimal additional terminal effect from the three buckshot and the added risk of stray pellets.
Compared with a typical nine-pellet 00 buckshot load, the wound cavity will be much smaller.
The rationale for buck-and-ball loads went out with the issue of smoothbore muskets fired in volleys.
