I have a Win model 70 Black shadow in .270 Win and I consider replacing the el-cheapo flexibo stock by a oyds targer varminter, but I relay dont know much about what is the diferance between the Long and Short action, and the differance with a pre 64 and post 64.

can some on help me, the Black shadow is what?

BTW The barrel channel on a "varmint" stock may show a fair gap when you drop in an action with a sporter-weight (thinner) barrel, which is what your rifle has.
