I spoke with Lew Hummason today and he told me that they have been able to lower the price of Winchester Shells.

All Super Target Shells are now $51.95 per flat plus tax. They were $55.00 plus tax.

All AA shells (12 & 20 gauge) are $73.00 per flat plus tax. They were $78.00 plus tax.

Sub-gauge (28 and 410) AAs are $99.00 plus tax ... old price was $105.00 plus tax (10/26/10)

He can arrange drop shipping to a business street address in lots of 104 flats.

Call Lew or Brian at Hummason's in Ancaster, Ontario 905-648-3430.

Do you know if the price of components came down too?

I didn't ask. I do know lead shot went up a few weeks ago and the price of raw lead has gone up 20 cents per lb. in the last 60 days. Today it was trading at over $1.10 per lb. The US guys are saying lead went up $5 per bag in many places. Interesting part about the price of lead is that the price is way up, but so is the supply. There is more lead available to the market now than at any time in the last 5 years ... IMHO the price will come down for lead, but it is hard to say when that will happen.

I almost started to cry today when I picked up a 2005 Ontario Out of Doors mag at the doctor's office that had Al Flaherty's advertising the winchester super targets at $37 a flat.

My skeet club would have alot less targets in the storage shed if I could get them at those prices.

Is it usual for prices to fall this time of year? It just occurred to me that clay shooting will probably be slowing down quite a bit with winter coming on. Maybe shops are reducing inventory for the winter.

I don't think it really has anything to do with the season,

Hummason's is a wholesaler and I think the prices are dropping because of the higher dollar.

I don't know who Lew is but Joe-Brook (site sponsor) offered a better deal to me on a pallet, delivered. Unforunately I'm having difficulty finding local guys wanting in. He said the pricing is due to the dollar at par.
Cheers
