Our club has access to two single stack skeet machines but no power cords. I called a place in the USA but they want 112 for a power cord!!! Anyone have any advice on cheaper way to buy or make a cord? Also looking for one main spring.

Thanks

Justin

Most extension cords should do, depending on the amperage of the machines, you can get various gauges of wire, 12g or at the very thickest, 10g should suffice.
Have spliced many a male end onto cords, just make sure to either heat shrink or at the very least tape the end well with electrical tape.

Is it the plug that screws to the machine you want, or just a cord. If it is the plug, you may end up paying the $112.

QRP (Quality Replacement Parts) keeps me in Beomat parts. Pretty sure they can take care of you with Winchester parts. It's a US company but they will ship to Canada no problem.

You need the threaded plug that fits that machine so if I were you I'd cough up the $112 for the correct cord and fitting. I have seen guys try to "McGyver" those fittings only to come up with a total disaster.......no pun intended....ok well maybe?!! ;)

I would bet Lawry's has those cord ends. We used to have a box full of them as spares at my old home club. Actually we had enough parts on hand to build a pair of machines..

What I did was convert ours to a 4 prong twist lock plug. The factory style winchester plugs are virtually impossible to acquire.

Yeah, I think that would be the cheap solution. Look at the plug that is there, and see what you can find that you CAN get, that will allow you to wire in a new connector. Take a bit of time and search "4 pin plug and socket connector" online and see if you can find a suitable connector or a set.

On the other hand, depending on the length of the included cable, $112 might not be a bad buy, even in US bucks.

Cheers

If it's 110$ for the proper cord and your on your way, it's probably the way to go. To convert it would likely cost around the same. If it gets screwed up then it costs even more

Try Lawrys for the cord or bring the whole machine to a motor shop like Fadders or BJ Electric in Dartmouth they can replace the plug to an easier one to acquire, as for the spring Velocity Machining in Dartmouth makes the springs for the throwers at our club, they are great guys.
