Just wondering if any one here has used any of the new manufacture Winchester Super-X ammunition and their thoughts on it.Good, bad or ugly?

In the past I used Super-X 22 ammunition a lot and never had a problem with it.However my stock pile of it is getting down and I wonder just how good or bad the new manufactured stuff is?

As a youth, I shot thousands of rounds of CIL "Whiz-Bang" and "Super-Clean" 22 ammo.

Once in a while, we would get a box of Winchester/Western ammo. It was decent ammo
for the day. Also, on rare occasions we got a box or two of Remington "Hi-Speed" which
was superior to the Winchester, but on par with the CIL stuff which was good.

Once IVI took over the CIL plant, ammo quality went south pretty fast. I still have a few
boxes of the late manufacture Imperial 22 ammo. It is really poor quality, with about 1 out
of 10 rounds sounding weak and at 50M, often 3-4" low.

We have so much good quality 22 ammo available today that there is no excuse for using
substandard ammo, even for "plinking" JMHO, Dave.

At Christmas I got 2 boxes of it from a Secret Santa. I was skeptical of it as had nightmares with other Winchester .22 ammo. No issues with the Super-X and same accuracy as I get with any other ammo in the same price range. Much cleaner than white box or m22 rounds.
I dont know if I'd "stack it deep" but I'd buy a couple more packs for sure.

Kind of what I was thinking ,that perhaps the Super -X ,22 ammunition was made with a little more care than the other .22 calibre Winchester manufactured ammunition .From your comments that would seem to be true.

The only Winchester rim-fire ammo I bought recently was .17HMR; the accuracy was really bad. 3" groups at 100 yards; Hornady and CCI are <3/4" center to center. Just under 1/2 or the Winchester cases split at the neck. Rifle is a CZ 455. No more.

Recently purchased a brick of Winchester Super-X .22 ,40 grain ,solid copper plated, X22LR coded cartridges. Was at the range and fired about a box and three quarters of them. All worked well, with no failures to fire or extract .Accurate as any other .22 ammunition I have fired .
