So I'm looking at these two guns and in acouple of days I'm going to make up my mind and pick one. I was just wondering what your guys input is on the two guns. I have shouldered both shotguns and they both feel good . Amy input is appreciated
Thanks fellas

I recently picked up the SX3.

It had the features I was looking for in a waterfowl gun... 3.5 inch chamber, 26 inch barrel, choke tubes, vr barrel, matte finish & a synthetic stock set.

Not to mention that LeBaron had a 15% off sale with Club Membership.

Cheers
Jay

SX3 is a great shooter - for the finish on the barrel/receiver, meh.....

My son and I both own SX3's, his is the plastic stock, I went with the "field" wood stock/fore-end. Both have the same finish, that "stippled" coating that Browning/Winchester uses instead of a "real" blued barrel/receiver.

My son's shotgun gets abused pretty badly, banging around trees/brush if grouse hunting - or he'll unload and prop it against sharp rocks etc, if we take a rest break. Result - his shotgun still looks like new, not a mark on it.

On the other hand, I baby mine - I'm very careful when walking along a trail, I'd never lean it against anything like a rock - and I always use two hands to take rifles/shotguns out of the safe, to prevent "safe rash". But my SX3 scratches very easily, right down to bare metal on the barrel. I "touch it up" with a black paint to keep the rusties off, but the touch-ups are noticeable.

It seems that the finish quality varies considerably from one gun or lot number to another, IMO.

Great shootin' shotguns, fast 2nd/3rd shots, reliable actions/cycling. I would buy another for the function - but I don't know how I could check for finish quality, as the gunshop might get a tad upset if I tested the barrel to see if it scratched or marked easily.

If you compared an sx3 to a400 then beretta all the way. But a a300 to an sx3 is not even close. If you want to buy a cheaper american version of a beretta than buy the a300 but if you want to buy a quality gun buy the sx3. Those a300 guns are made in the states and not in Italy. Not a real beretta.

The A400 is as well, I bought one kast year top raffle off.

The SX3 black & 26 or 28. I spent a while looking and liked the fit of the SX3. The A300 gets good reviews but is still, in my opinion, less of a gun. I started a thread about "itchy finger". Lots of love for the Win. I ended up with a Benelli SBE2. Make sure what you buy fits well.

Try a Maxus as well for a good semi waterfowl gun. I like mine better than the A400 i sold... couldn't get used to the safety in front of the trigger.

I love my a400, but couldn't agree more about the safety. I've put about 500 rounds through mine and still can't reliably find the damn safety.

I have one of these with the 24 inch barrel. It's basically a race gun version of the A400.
If you take the time to review the features I'm sure you will be impressed.

Don't sweat the 24" barrel - I shot 23/25 on the trap field with it the first time out.
I also use it for 5 stand and it rocks on skeet.
It's a lot of fun and out of all my shotguns it's what I'd use first for hunting. It's light and fast handling and since it's a gas operated semi - the recoil is very mild.

It come's with a 13 inch length of pull for the tactical games, but it has the spacers to make it longer too.

I got mine from Wolverine Supply a few months ago.

I think it was around $1300

I have no regrets about buying this gun.

I recently picked up an SX3, they are nice shooting guns indeed. Mine is in camo as that is what I wanted - but if I was going for a wood stocked gun I think there are nicer looking guns out there than the Sx3.

I was fortunate enough to meet acouple of gentlemen at the gun club who both were shooting the sx3 and the a300 . They allowed me to fire both guns . The sx3 although lighter the beretta just felt like a solid gun . Both guys had nothing bad to say about their guns it all came down to personal preference. I went ahead and bought the beretta a300 xtrema and I absolutely love it . Can't wait to get out there and start smashing waterfowl.
