Hey Guys
My buddy bought one of these SXP's 3" 12g with the assisted pump. I know when the round is fired the recoil/inertia is suppose to assist the operator for a quicker reload. But how much assist is to much? When you fire his, the action comes all the way back and ejects the spent case if you dont hold the fore stock firm enough. Is this normal for these? Seems like it shouldnt come back that far to me.

Depends how you hold it. Mine would always eject for me, and never for the next guy.

I drive the butt firmly into my shoulder with pressure on the fore end. Other folks, less so

Mine would come back all the way even on target loads. Smooth, fast, dependable gun. Leaps and bounds better feel than the other offerings of similar price point. Too bad they don't offer more wood options. Definitely doesn't have the tank feel of an 870.

My old mossberg will do the same with slugs. Maybe it's not supposed to.

Both my wife and i have one.

They both will eject the case if you limp wrist it on the forend. With a little thought and effort you can hold it closed.

Fyi if you arw looking for a +2 round mag tube . S&j hardware is the only company making one.
You will have to remove the mag tube dimples just like a remington 870
