Hello. I am one of the lucky ones who was on the crappy end of the SXP recall. I bought it new roughly two years ago and have had nothing but good things to say about it. That is until I heard about the recall and saw the video. I am glad that Winchester posted the recall, as they are paying to fix it however I am no kinda pissed that I know am the owner of a gun no one will trust again. This will probably be the last Winchester I buy now just for the simple fact I am never going to 100% sure which is a shame because I was seriously considering upgrading to an sx3 for waterfowl hunting. Not to sure now. A friend of mine is also in the same boat after I convinced him to buy one and he is looking for a refund and is going to submit a letter with his. I am also thinking the same. Does anyone have any experience with this or will I be wasting my time.

#### happens. Did everyone ask Toyota for a buy back when all their unsafe airbags didn't work?

Its a flaw and they are fixing it. You loved it apparently and never noticed a malfunction?

I don't see why you wouldn't love it just as much now knowing the potential unsafe condition is now gone.

Also FN of Belgium makes the Browning and Winchester Semis the SXP is made in Turkey. Two different ball games.

Send it in, shoot it, and enjoy. Plus they send you a nifty little gift when they return it to you fixed (in less than two weeks)

Mine was recalled, 17 days from the time I called them until my repaired shotgun was returned to me. There was a problem, and they fixed it. Quickly. Efficiently. Can you think of a better test of a company than that? No delays, no hiding, no dicking around. They mailed me a box, I put the gun in it, sent it back, got it back soon thereafter. I will happily deal with a company that takes care of their customers. You have a safe, reliable gun, backed by a company that has the right priorities. Enjoy it!

Get it repaired, then enjoy it. I do not have the 3.5 inch sxp, but I love my field model in 3 inch. Really fast pump and it feels much better than a mossberg or remington.

Seriously! The problem is being fixed. Many many brands of merchandise from food to electronics to automobiles have had recalls for one thing or another. That sure doesn't mean every item in a company's product line is flawed. By your logic, you should be running out of brands to buy.

who cares you like it you shoot it, between my benelli nova and the SXP il take my SXP hands down, its a dream to shoot and probably the fastest pump around, they sent me a prepaid box to return it to, they have sold me on their CS, il likely buy an SX3 for my next goose gun

If it had of been a Rem 870 instead of the Win SXP you probably wouldn't have heard about the recall (which they would call something else, not a "real" recall) for 10 years or more after a few dozen people had been killed by the gun going off accidentally.

Rem did that with the trigger issues on the 700's and it sure doesn't seem to have 1) slowed down the secondary used market or 2) slowed the demand for rifles on the shelf.

Who is doing the Recall repairs? I assume not Winchester Canada (Browning Canada). I bought an SXP Waterfowler 3" for waterfowl season last year, camo was peeling when I took it apart at the end of opening weekend.

I still have not received my gun back. First they just didn't reply when I sent the pictures to their gunsmlth (after first telling me to accept the fact that my gun will peel eventually), then I got the ball rolling again in the winter. They have had my gun since April, at first I was supposed to get my new one in June, now they say maybe August. When I heard about the recall I assumed that would be the end of Winchester after the way they have handled my warranty issue.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll have a Winchester to shoot this fall. Luckily my Mossberg hasn't peeled after years of abuse, it'll be ready and willing.

At least that's what's on the shipping label

The SX3 has a spring holding the firing pin back. This feature will likely prevent the issues encountered with the SXP in 3.5". I have over 4000 rounds through mine without a problem.

Exactly. Rather deal with a company that jumps on a problem and remedies it, then a company that plays stupid or points the finger at the end user. Easier and cheaper to deal with the problem then pay lawyers to fight law suit after law suit. The fact they're jumping on the problem and taking care of customers is more reason to deal with them in the future.

Given all the positive posts in this thread, I'd think you should be calling because your service doesn't seem to be consistent with everyone else's.

My issue wasn't the recall, my gun had the camo finish peeling off from day 1.
At first they just stopped replying, then they tried to say "it's going to peel eventually sir!". Then they had to contact Winchester USA to see if it was a warranty issue after I pressed the matter and called Winchester USA myself. They have had my gun since April, I started the process September 30, 4 days after buying the gun!
Over the process I have had to deal with 3 different people, I think the first guy, the "it's going to peel eventually" guy got fired, justifiably.

EDIT: After no reply to my last email, I took your advice and called. They claim they have my new gun and will ship it soon. If I have it for opening day of waterfowl season I'll be happy.
