What a nightmare this will be for owners, glad mine are 3".
I got a SXP Waterfowler last fall, bought it the Friday of opening weekend. After three hunts I brought it home to clean and noticed the camo finish peeling. I am still dealing with them on a possible warranty replacement.
I am partially to blame, I held things up a bit on my end as they wanted me to send all accessories back with the gun, which I didn't have at home. But they have not made it easy. At first I was told "Its going to peel eventually!" and was expected to accept that my 3 day old gun was peeling. When I didn't accept that, they said to send pictures to their gunsmith but that he probably can't fix it, then they just stopped replying.
Current status is they have had the gun for two weeks and have yet to responded to my request for a ballpark ETA. I just hope I get my gun back before opening day this year, September is just around the corner!
Good luck to the 3.5" owners, hope you have another gun to use come fall!
EDIT: Just looked at the Winchester recall page. The "mark" they are putting on the receivers to show if the gun has been inspected/repaired is in the exact spot my camo finish was peeling/bubbling. I don't see this going well.
Just as I was starting to think, "Hey, Turkish guns aren't that bad!"
