I have just got back from the range where I was breaking in my new Winchester Wildcat. The bolt was sticky and I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue. Will it ease up with more use or should I break out the file? Any advice is welcome.

If the Winchester is anything like the Baikal-branded version, then it is not, shall we say, "finely finished". If that's what you mean by "sticky" then you should see it smooth out quite a bit after a few hundred rounds.

Most of us bought the russian model from Armrus when he was going out of business, $100 was a pretty good deal. The action is not the smoothest but will smooth out a bit with some use. Don't use stingers as the chamber is pretty short. Don't ever use a file on a gun...please.

Generously lube up your bolt and shoot a brick. It'll get better.
