I am happy to say I am the proud new owner of a Winchester Wildcat .22lr Target/Varmint Bull barrel. It seems like a extremely well put together rifle, with quality that would rival a Winchester Centerfire Rifle. This rifle comes with a heavy Bull barrel, a adjustable 2-Stage trigger, and 4 detachable Magazines (3-10rounders, 1-5rounder).

The ammount of quality, and detail that went into this Rimfire actually puts it into a different league as my Carbine Ruger 10/22, although I still love the Ruger very much. I still can't believe that this rifle cost me only $50 more than my Carbine Ruger. It does'nt bother me one bit that this Rifle is made in Russia, especially after seeing what you get for the money, absoloutely incredible. I just hope it shoots as good as it looks, but from some of the other reviews out there on this rifle, it sounds like a tack driver.

I have just one question to anyone else out there that has one of these nice Rimfires. Do you guys install a Weaver style base and rings, or would you guys just through on a couple of rings that would fit nicely on the provided groves.

Since the recoil of a .22 is'nt exactly shoulder breaking, I would think that using a set of Rimfire rings would be fine. What do you guys think?

These are the mounts I have put on, just to try them out. They seem solid, and considering the amount of recoil a .22lr puts out, I would assume they will be fine for the Scope Mount. Opinions, and past experience would be more than welcome if anyone has done the same to there Wildcat.

Confess. You just wanted to show off that rifle:D I don't blame you - the Wildcat is a nifty little piece.

I bought one for my wife and mounted a compact Burris scope with rimfire rings that clamp into the dovetails. No problem whatsoever. The scope stays put.

I bought it from Lebaron's in Missasauga for $274.94 They still had several in stock. I think it costs only $20 more than a Bare Bones Carbine Ruger 10/22. I could'nt believe my eyes when I saw the price online. I pretty much rushed out there, once I noticed it online. I would of been kind of pissed if I did'nt notice a deal like that.

What do you guys think about mounting a scope they way I was demonstrating it with the rings I put on there? The rings are from a $80 Bushnell Rimfire scope that came with the rings, that I never used on my ruger because the ruger would'nt accept them. The Winchester Wildcat I just bought fits the rings like a glove, and although they were not expensive, they seem quite solid. I will be mounting a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40, and everything seems to fit together quite well. I just wanted to hear what the fellow CGN had to say about mount a scope that way on a .22 ??

Please post a review once you've shot it. One of the guys at Le Baron in Montreal tried to convince me to buy one, but I decided to go with a Kid barrel for my 10/22 instead. Even ended up spending $5 dollars more than you, for the barrel alone!

I mounted my scope just the way you have pictured (dovetail/ b square) and it hasn't budged after 1190 rounds. I'm sure you'll like this gun once you get shooting it, It is a tack driver for sure.

I own the same rifle, love it. I threw on high Millet rings with Bushnell Banner 4x12x40 and no issues at all.

Ya, it is a TOZ 78-14. It is stamped on barrel actually. Its just imported by Winchester with a Wildcat stamp on it.

Well I ended up putting on my Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 with the rings that I have from the pictures. I used a couple of drops of loctite just to be safe, but everything clears perfect and feels really solid. I am confident that it will be staying put !

Hopefully I can get it to the range within the next week. I am going away for the weekend, but hopefully on Monday or Tuesday I will post some results.

Comrades....Don't let gun fall on trigger guard/mag. housing, if it's like the one I saw, the plastic breaks easily, unless they've changed from plastic.

i just bought my second one for my son to go gopher hunting with me and I mounted a tasco 2.5-10x40 and took about 20 rounds to bring it to tack driving accuracy.

Those dovetail rings will work fine. I use dovetail mounts on my spring powered airguns (which actually have significantly more recoil than rimfires). The loctite is a good precaution, I use the blue stuff. The red loctite needs heat to get it off...
