i found online that a winchester 2400 is rare. how rare would this gun be and worth for fair or decent condition?

your telling me supposedly this gun in perfect i guess can fetch for 1200-1500 something like that mine is not there. would be nice i paid i think it was 375 for it

Firearms canada has one listed for $225 not a rare gun.

If it is a high grade model with great walnut wood and removable chokes then it might be worth $500 plus.

Do some more research on this gun! It was one of winchester's failures.

never had any probs with it yet has screw in imp cyl choke, barrel the very best in and out stock was bubba'd when i bought it the owner painted it black over the wood.

Well there ya go painted black you just lost $50 of the value. So you're down to about a $200 gun. The shop you bought it from seen you coming and said this guys going to be easy.

IIRC the 2400 was a variant of the 1400 produced by Winchester Canada. The weakest point of the gun was the plastic feed throats in the magazine. They had a tendency to break and are hard to find to replace. I used a 1400 with 26" IC barrel as a grouse gun one fall and it worked well. I can't testify as to how many thousand rounds you can put through one before it wears out though. I think a decent condition 2400 with Win Choke would be worth about 250.00 most days of the week.

Where online did you find that it is rare? A even a rare gun does not mean it is automatically worth more money. In fact, that can cause a gun to be worth less than a popular firearm. This combined with condition will dictate value and as mentioned, with a painted stock you have about a $200.00 gun.
