in case you did turn the knobs the wrong way, don't worry.. it happens to us all.

PS, a little trick to make sure you dont get "lost in the moment". On a target with a grid, right down the W/E value for several points of impact. Do it now while you aren't busy with shooting and can double check clearly before you go to the range. Now you just dial the scope to match the value of that location and the shot better hit it.
Up 3 mins would have a marking of "3"... down 3 mins would be "9"... windage Right 3 mins would be "3"... left "9".
upper right would be E-3 W-3 and so forth. Write it on the target so you dont need to second guess when testing. This is also part of the "box testing" you hear about. the POI is moved in predetermined amounts around the center and the shots should form correct groups in each corner. From there, you can increase the adjustment amount to check all sorts of scope tracking.
