That is my fear with the XP spring. Seems like the best scenario is not using Romanian surplus

I thought of the same thing, I've got lots of Norc. ammo which the rifle would shoot without a problem but I just don't like the idea of unreliable gun. It works well with Norinco but not so with Romanian and who knows what it will do with Russian or Czech. The gun has to go bang very time you pull the trigger, if it doesn't, there is no room for it in my house. So I opted for heavier trigger in exchange for 100% reliable gun.

I emailed Windham Saturday and got a response back at Monday 8:06 AM today telling me a new firing pin is on it's way no charge.

Just an update.
Got my 7.62x39 extended firing pin from WW Thursday in the mail along with the XP hammer spring.
Tried Romanian surplus again with the extended pin and original hammer spring had 1 light strike out of 40 rds. Getting better.
Trigger weight around 4.5 lbs.

Interested to hear how the russian and norinco ammo runs. Have you tried Barnul?

The wolff should be a 9+ lb pull.
Make sure it was oriented the right way on the hammer.
It will run when installed backwards

You hit the nail on the head! LOL
Turned the proper way and sure enough I have 6 lbs trigger pull now. Will try it tomorrow. You can feel that hammer snap hard now.
