Not both at the sametime. Found this morning interesting as the mating season seems to be well underway but I guess these two dogs were out looking for that perfect mate. I took yote one on a set close to a new woods keeping down wind and it was windy as I howled to start at first light and then 2 minutes did a jack rabbit DST on very high volume as the wind and the woods being a dence cedar swamp I thought volume was needed to start.
6 minutes into the call out comes the one dog about 200 yards and trots out into the open enough for a shot but was unsure where the sound had came from. I shot once holding right on him and it was a missed. THE WIND came to mind and I held "Guessing" one foot into the wind and squeezed and down into a spin and to a stop he went. Tried for a while longer and no others.
I got ready to take pics and I forgot the Darn camera at the truck
so I dragged him out and got underway to the next spot another new place and the farmer told me he had been seeing them and hearing them in this location. A swamp with red gads and swamp trees and as I take the snow shoes and get them on I look up and see a yote digging about 200 yards out. The wind is covering my noise and movement so I work my way to a low pine and get set and I start to call with a hand call and he dont hear me so I turn on the fox pro and put on the Lil Pig and hit the 40 and he looks up and starts running right at me. I have the gun on the biopod pointed right at him and at 60 yards he stops looking at me and Lights out !
A double dog today after 3 days of wet sloppy snow
Never had a new contest photo here so I printed March of the shockwave one. Hope thats ok
