Hello,
I recently got my first gun ever, a 2006 Wingmaster 12g, 28". I've put about 200 shots through it and have noticed some strange wear.

1) The chrome bolt has some signifigant scoring on the upper left side where it mates to the chamber portion of the barrel

2) The action bar groves in the reciever have two big burrs/gouges in them where the bolt lock mechanism rides on the action bars when the action is closed (firing position)

3) The bluing on the barrel has a 'gas on water' look on the magazine hoop, not functional but it looks ulgy on an otherwise sharp shotgun.

The guns action is smooth, are these causes of concern or am I too pickey.
Thanks a lot

The colour difference between the barrel and the hoop that fits around the magazine is normal. Without seeing the other parts you asked about I can't say whether they are normal or not but I haven't seen similar burrs or scoring in other 870s.

The sad fact is that Remington production QC isn't what it used to be and if the gun works properly I probably wouldn't worry about it. If it really bothers you then take it back to the dealer and ask them.

Take it apart and get rid of obvious burrs that you see.
It's not hard to strip down the gun and smooth out any imperfections put a good cold blue on it and shoot away.
