Well I bought a wingmaster action from a guy which was in great conditions. Then I put a dlask 14" barrel on it. It worked great for the first 100 rounds. Then after that when I fired a round the action would open about half way. I just wondering if there is something I can do to fix it?

thanks

It's due to how you are gripping the gun under recoil. You're getting a bit of "bounce" that is leaving you with some rearward forend inertia after the action unlocks, and the result is a partial cycle for free. It's normal, and speed shooters will do everything they can to maximize the effect.

Try varying the amount of rearward pressure you put on the forend, and you'll see what I mean. Play around with it during dry fire, and it will help you understand how the unlocking works.

it still opens the action even when I am not holding the fore end. the action almost opens up all the way when shooting slugs.

That's because inertia is causing the slide/bolt assembly to continue its rewards motion when the receiver has stopped moving under the forces of recoil. That's alright though. You have to learn to use that has an advantage when operating the slide. I cut my teeth on a pump action and it is now a reflex for me to cycle the action the second I pull the trigger...no pause, no hesitation.

No worries. Just a well broken in 870. Should try a Winchester out, practically racks the action itself.

As its been said, perfectly normal for recoil to assist opening the action. Not holding the foregrip will amplify this, no issue there. As long as it locks up solid upon loading and won't open until trigger pulled or release lever near trigger guard is pressed.

I shot an older winchester 12 that would literally extract an empty shell..

My defender is perfect for one handed shooting. Pull trigger action slides back flick forward repeat. Now all I need is another 1200 that way I can shoot two at the same time. I will be the coolest guy at the range! Should probably wear a ghilly suit too. Nobody steal my idea.
