Wingmaster. Wow.

I’ve got 3 Wingmaster, 2 corncobs, 12 and 20, both VR, and both fixed Mod....they are old, faithful, and well used, then I have a 3” that I bought new, the first year Rem chokes arrived, it didn’t get much use.

Who changed your ejector to a 3"? I have a wingmaster coming with a 3" barrel but a non magnum receiver. Like to get it changed.
 
Mine was done here in Ottawa, by GunCo, cost me 90$. However it is a very common mod. Talk to Ross at Gundealer. On a side note, depending on when the gun was built, it may already be a 3" gun. There was a point where they all were built the on the same platform. You may get lucky
 
If anyone is wondering when their reciever was made, talk to the online person on Remingtons site within 5min they will tell you. Mine was made April 1973

Just got back from the range wity my 73 wingmaster had no problems ejecting 3" shells with from what I can tell a 2.75 ejector. Should be a fun duck season.
 
I have both a mid-80's Express and an 870 TC. Both are pretty smooth after lots of use.
Maybe not quite as slick as my Model 12's, but smooth none the less. If you held my Model 12 20 ga. Skeet vertical and pressed the action release, the forend would drop and the action come fully open !
Haven't run across an 870 that would do that.
 
A guy I worked with called me up and told me his step Dad had passed away. His Mom said there was "a shotgun" in the closet that she wanted gone. Sight unseen I offered him a hundred bucks and she said take it away. He brought it over, Remington Wingmaster 12g. He said here is the original box of shells Dad bought with it, a couple missing. Dated it at 1966.

Maybe I will use it if my Model 31 in 16 g ever wears out ....

I grew up with a Wingmaster and just assumed all pumps were like that.
Until I started actually using other brands and was surprised at the difference.
The only thing that comes close is an Ithaca M37, but even then it is still a ways off.
