Hi there everyone, I have a question about a winny m70 marked classic stainless I have (5 digit serial number) in 7mm rem mag the question I have is about the stock, it is wearing a laminate featherweight stock looks like what they used to call the wintuff but it has the typical featherweight checkering and scrolls. It doesn’t look like a marriage and doesn’t look like an aftermarket Boyd’s type stock either, I have never been able to find any pictures or information on one l set up like this. Has anyone seen a set up this in an old catalogue??? Message me if you want pictures as I can’t get them to upload properly.

Thanks for your time

Does the barrel channel appear opened up from a featherweight contour?
Is the recoil pad black rubber with Winchester on it?
Sounds like a stock swap from a plastic synthetic to featherweight wincam to me.

Thanks for the reply, It has the typical red rubber pad the same ones my other classics have and I dont see any evidence of the barrel channel being opened up but I have not removed the stock to have a real good look either.

Right on. In that era of Winchester m70’s, I don’t believe featherweights were chambered in the magnum cartridges.
