Hi guys,

I started a little project this winter to store my H&R .270 with Elite 3x10x40, and here are the results:

Thought it might give some ideas as lots of handmade jobs pics are posted here so...

The box is 24x9x5 made with old planks for the rough look of it and to hide whatever mistake I could of make building it...

I am now building one for my 12ga shotgun for which I have 2 barrels, removable pistolgrip and 3 chokes. Should be interesting. Will post pics when finished:) .

See yah.

That's a CLASS ACT Sir! One of a kind box made for a favorite rifle. Bet you have a big grin when you show up at the range with that one. A little pride and a personal touch go a long way knowing and shooting your rifle./tt

I will indeed, it kinda turned out very nice and am quite happy with the results. Didn't even try the rifle yet, just bought it before Christmas.... she better shoot well..:D .

Thanks guys.....

I looks sorta like that retro/distressed look that some of the furniture and collectable type stores are flogging these days.
WHOLE BUNCH NICER!!
Great job for a special rifle.....

Nice work, Paul. The piano hinge is kickass - heavy duty!
Hey, looking at the pics it doesn't appear that there's much room between the fore-end and buttstuck. (?) I wouldn't want to see them rub together...
Great job!

It does indeed overlap on on top of the other but they are not touching, the receiver part is moulded lower in the box but you're right, on the pics, it looks a bit too close.
