HEBOYGAN, Wis. - A Wisconsin man says he has his fingers crossed and he's saying his prayers as he waits to find out if the buck he shot last week is a world record.

Michael Gregoire of Sheboygan Falls took the deer with a bow and arrow Thursday on his brother's farm just west of Sheboygan Falls.

The 12-point buck weighed 240 pounds and the rack has been unofficially scored at 217 5/8 inches. A 60-day drying period must first pass before an official score is granted.

The Boone and Crocket Club Web site says the world record for a typical whitetail rack is 213 5/8 inches, shot with a rifle in Canada in 1993. The state record is 206 1/8 inches.

Now, all Gregoire can do is wait for the day drying period to elapse and for three licensed, random scorers to render their verdict.

It doesn't stand a chance of netting over 200" typical. On the right side G2 the tine splits. (The G3 they scored is technically a sticker point that will be deducted) It's a hell of a nice deer! But it will unfortunately not touch the "Hanson Buck".

Even using a sticker as a G3 I'd like to see the score sheet.. Or at least a profile picture. To me that doesn't look like a 200" whitetail..

That's an awesome Buck. But world record? Definately not Boone and Crockett. It can't be, he harvested it with a bow, So it can only be scored as Pope and Young. My guess is 185-190 P&Y when it is officially scored.
